BACKPACKS FOR KIDS STARTS AGAIN!

Our important “Backpacks for Kids” program starts again! Via Pastor Melinda Foster:

Backpackers,

It’s that time again. Next Wednesday we pick up our first boxes to distribute on Thursday for the elementary schools. Wednesday will be a large load. It would be great to have a truck or a van in addition to or instead of my car. Please let me know ASAP if you can pick up on Weds before 3:00 once or twice a month or take a whole month 2 or 3 times during the year.

On Thursdays, we have the first week and 5th weeks taken care of for the year. So, we need the 2nd, 3rd and 4th weeks. let me know if you want the same week you did last year or a different week. Also, let me know if your group can do the whole thing – 3 or 4 vehicles a week – or if you can do part and need others to help. We have a few individuals who are willing to help on a regular basis, but they can’t do it by themselves.

I will know Wednesday what our count will be for next week. OpenTable UCC has moved to 11308 N Garnett Road. More space! So, we will bring the boxes to OpenTable on Weds and they will be ready for distribution by noon on Thursday and earlier if need be. I will get keys to you when you come the first time.

Hope you had a great summer. Sure wish the heat would end before next week – the sooner the better! Can’t wait to see all of you.
