Exciting worship “FUN WITH ESCHATOLOGY” tomorrow!

Come for worship tomorrow at 5 p.m.  Julie Summers will be leading with Faith Wylie as our facilitator.  The following note is from Julie:

‘Hey there, Companions!

Ever been told to go to hell? Had someone suggest that you need “fire insurance” against the threat of eternal damnation? Most of us in the Bible belt bump into this strand of Christian theology on a regular basis–on TV if not in person. Well, tomorrow at OpenTable, we’re going to unpack some of that baggage and take a look at it. Come join us for a look at images of hell in art and literature, as well as in Scripture. Oh, and stay for iced tea and a cool salad supper afterward.

Faith and I will be coordinating worship throughout July while Melinda is on vacation, so look at the “FUN WITH ESCHATOLOGY” (End Times) worship adventures we have planned–and join us!
See ya tomorrow!’ – Julie

P.S. – Details of tomorrow’s worship below:
Afterlife: Images in Art & Literature of Hellfire and Damnation
Media: Prints, literature and Scripture
Drawing on images from art and literature, we will reflect on Christian visions of life after death. We will explore, particularly, the frightening visions of judgment, eternal damnation and hell, and the impact of this theological world view on Christian life.
Reflection facilitator: Faith Wylie

“Eschatology, Tigers and BEARS, OH MY!!!” I wish I could be there! Still here in Dallas, but there in spirit.
